He has a lifetime history of bringing people together. He weaves different points-of-view. He listens. Then he acts.
Highway 18
As the newest member of the Snoqualmie Economic Development Commission in 2014, he elevated Highway 18 improvements to a top priority bringing together state and local leaders. That work is happening today in part to his early leadership.
Workforce Housing
Rob initiated the community Affordable Housing Forums in 2015. Under his leadership, he has brought a diversity of voices together for seven broadly attended meetings, and continues to host monthly meetings that is leading to new workforce housing in North Bend and Snoqualmie. He is a respected leader in housing affordability in our region.
Economic Development
Rob founded the SnoValley Innovation Center in 2018, a nonprofit organization to assist businesses and startups. His work continues through a historic Economic Alliance between the cities of Carnation, Duvall, North Bend, and Snoqualmie, along with the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe. Together they are coordinating projects, leveraging resources that have been brought together through Rob's work with the Washington state Department of Commerce, local Chambers of Commerce, and other organizations.
Pandemic Recovery
From Day One, Rob reached out to businesses offering them assistance prior to the government-mandated shutdowns. He worked tirelessly that resulted in 90 businesses receiving over $3 million in federal relief to ensure their doors remained open, saving countless jobs.
Local Jobs
Prior to COVID, Rob organized the first community Job Fairs eventually enlisting the help of the Washington State Employment Security resources. When employers struggled to hire during the Pandemic, with no prior experience, Rob created the SnoValleyJobs.com website, making it free to employers and jobseekers alike in 2021. Last year, over 11 thousand local jobseekers, 100 employers utilized this resource Rob created.
Rob is a tireless champion for his community. His work in bringing people and resources together serves all of us well.
