Public Safety: Highway 18 Improvements Are Long Overdue

When the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma joined to form the Seaport Alliance in 2017, Rob was the first to bring the matter to local leaders that a large portion of freight traffic shifted from Seattle to Tacoma.

In the years that have followed, SR 18 has become more dangerous due in part to the increased traffic this has caused.

Since joining the Snoqualmie Economic Development Commission in 2014, he's been a leading advocate on making Highway 18 safer. Rob knows no single person is going to make a difference, but he knows working together with both Republican and Democrat leaders we are making a difference.

He continues the next leg of this journey: we simply need public transit to serve the communities along Highway 18. Thousands of people commute to work every day, most of those people have no choice other than single-occupancy vehicles.

Rob Wotton has been there for us. He will continue to advocate to keep our community and workers who depend on SR 18 safe.
